Located just 30 kilometres south from the splendid city of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya offers a look inside Malaysia that no other city can offer. Seri Perdana
Once you have taken a look around the Prime Minister’s office, the official residence has to be your next stop. The residence is mind numbingly large and is truly an architectural masterpiece. While it is closed to the public as of 2009, an exterior glance is still well worth the trip to Putrajaya.
Aside from the governmental and cultural attractions in Putrajaya, other must sees when taking a Malaysia vacation are all of the monuments and gardens. In Putrajaya it all starts with the Taman Putra Perdana.
This stunning park located atop a hill offers the most unforgettable views in the entire city. The Putrajaya Landmark looks identical to the hat of a wizard and is rolled entirely from tinfoil. Unique to say the least, it makes for the perfect photo opportunity. If that isn’t enough to satisfy the tourist inside of you then take a stroll to the Millenium Monument, a 68 meter high statue in the form of a hibiscus flower that documents the entire history of Malaysia. If you truly want to understand Malaysia, this is the place to be.
While Putrajaya may not be the first place to pop into people’s heads when they think about the best travel destinations in the world, it should not be ignored.
