Malacca can truly be described in two words: vibrant and historic. In fact a visit to the area is so unique and memorable that the area was designated as a World Heritage Site in 2008. Simply touring the private shops and houses that were placed around the area by Chinese traders is an experience worth the journey. The careful architecture and master planning makes the area incredibly unique, and a true spectacle to see. Just one thing to make note of, everything tends to close down on Tuesdays so if you are planning on taking a trip here, try to make it a weekend.

If you truly want to experience what Malacca has to offer then the heritage areas are the first place that you want to head, and will probably offer the most memorable experiences and unforgettable pictures.

Stadthuys

This site was finalized in 1660 and is home to the historical museum. It is a building that is rich in culture and history and is a must see for any history buff or intrigued tourist.

Churches, Temples and Mosques of Malacca

Between St. Paul`s Church, Christ Church, the Sultanate Palace, the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and the Masjid Kampung Hulu, there are more than enough religious sites to satisfy the intrigue of any world traveler. Cheng Hoon is the oldest Chineste temple in all of Malaysia and the Kampung Hulu is by far one of the oldest mosques still in tact in the area. The architecture and the stories that waft out from the inside of these spots are not to be missed and bringing home pictures of these spots will make you the envy of anyone and everyone.

In fact, there are so many historical sites such as churches, temples, and memorable sites that they cannot even all be listed in one article. Any Malaysia vacation to Malacca is unique in and of itself, and is entirely what you make of it. There are so many places to stop in that you could take a vacation here four times over and not even realize you are in the same place. In fact, you can make a detailed list of places to see and things to do outside of town as well, if it is possible for any traveler to grow tired of what the central part of town has to offer.

If you want a unique experience, Malacca is the place you need to be.

Even if churches and historical sites are not enough to tempt you into a tour of Malacca, there are an infinite amount of other, exciting things to do. Consider viewing the town from the Taming Sari Revolving Tower or sit back and enjoy a 45 minute Melaka River Cruise that shows you the heart of Melaka and informs you about the days of the Golden Era. If that seems to be interesting but not quite thrilling enough then take a quick jaunt over to the Pirate Ship in Melaka where you can take a ride and think back to yesteryears.

In reality, Malacca deserves to be at the top of the list of top vacation destinations, especially for those looking to get a little bit more out of their vacation. Get in touch with history, learn about days gone past, entrench yourself in culture, and reward your eyes with scenery so beautiful it looks fake. No trip to Malacca is ever the same, and you have the opportunity to make your vacation here an incredibly unique one.

Penang is an island nestled off of the coast of Malaysia, but it isn’t always the first location to spring to mind when tourists begin to plan a vacation. Maybe that is simply because pristine beaches are at the focus of so many tourists. However, if you are looking for a little bit more out of your Malaysia vacation, or any vacation for that matter, then Penang is the place for you.

Beaches are in fact still abundant in Penang; they are just not as remarkably spectacular as they are in other parts of the country. However, for whatever Penang lacks in terms of beaches it more than makes up for when you take into account the history and culture that is soaked through the island in every way. Penang has found a way to blend the cultures of Chinese, Indian, European and Malay into a unique mix. On top of that, food enthusiasts will think they have passed and gone to heaven once they experience the `food paradise` that is Penang.

Once you have seen the beaches and stuffed yourself to the brim with all of the succulent foods, there are more than a few must see’s in Penang.

Temple of Supreme Bliss

This sprawling Buddhist temple sits vicariously on a beautiful hillside and a mini train connects the hill to a monstrous statue of the Goddess of Mercy. Religion and beliefs aside, this is an attraction that will bring even the savviest tourist to their knees. For an even more fulfilling experience try heading here during Chinese New Years when the entire temple is dotted with extravagant lanterns and transforms into a majestic wonderland.

Bukit Bendera of Penang Hill

Ever since the 19th century this hill has been infamous for the astounding views of the towns below and the Penang Bridge. For years travel writers have praised the location and scurried to the hill to enjoy the life changing temperatures. The cool breezes are a welcome break from the tropical climate and the view is something you would only think possible on the front of a postcard. 3 or 4 hours of the clean, crisp air and you will wonder what took you so long to get to this magnificent spot.

Animal Lovers in Penang

Anyone with a real interest in wildlife and nature will feel absolutely at home on the island of Penang. You could spend weeks touring sites such a the Penang Butterfly farm, the local aquarium, the Reptile Garden, the Penang Bird Park and even the Tropical Fruit Farm. On top of all of that simply visiting sites such as local gardens, or walking through the streets will give you the chance to see so many kinds of flora and fauna that you never knew existed.

Museum Lovers in Penang

Aside from all of the natural beauty and sites to see in Penang, there is also a vast array of museums that can hep you get in touch with the history and culture that surrounds the island. Take a gander through the War Museum, peruse the Toy Museum, or get entrenched in the wonder that exudes from the Snake Temple. Boredom is something that simply does not exist when taking a Malaysia vacation to Penang.

You can escape the routine vacation and really set your trip apart from every other one by taking a journey to Penang. Open your eyes to the culture, natural beauty, and splendour that pour out from the seams of Penang and experience a brand new type of getaway.

Vacations are supposed to be a way to get away from it all, relax, and indulge in a new culture and new sites, and that is exactly what a Malaysia vacation to Langkawi offers. Whether you are traveling with friends or your family it can often be difficult to find the perfect destination to satisfy everyone’s needs, but that just isn’t the case if you plan a getaway to Langkawi. Whether you are looking to spend your endless days lying back on the beach and allowing the sun to kiss your face, seeking out adventure, dining on wonderful local cuisine, or shopping, the islands that make up Langkawi are the place you want to be.

Langkawi is located south of Thailand, and while the area consists of 99 islands only two are actually inhabited. Most tourists and sun-seekers flock to Pulau Langkawi and to understand why it is such a lovely vacation spot all you have to do is take a look at the attractions and lifestyle offered here. Once you get to Langkawi you will be hard pressed to find a more mesmerizing and idyllic vacation spot.

Spend your Day at the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls

This waterfall is defined by the natural pools that collect all along its path. Traditional legend states that this Langkawi area is where fairies used to stop by in order to relax and frolic in the natural beauty of the waters. Whether you want to bathe in the pools, fly down the natural rock slide, or simply take in the scenic view, the choice is entirely yours. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to hike a ways. You didn’t think you could find paradise that easily, did you?

Gunung Raya

Mountain lovers have been awestruck at the view offered from the top of this 881 meter mountain for years. Sip tea and simply take in the wonder that surrounds you at the summit and you will realize that heaven on earth may truly exist.

Langkawi Beaches

Sure, most tropical destinations offer some pristine beaches, but many travelers will tell you that you haven’t experienced anything until you snuggle into the sandy beaches of Langkawi. From Pantai Cenang, which offers powder like sand and beachfront bars, to the undisturbed waters and shoreline of Pantai Kok, there is a beach here to satisfy even the pickiest sun tanners and snorkelers. In fact, you could make an entire month long itinerary in Langkawi simply by jumping from beach to beach and enjoying all of the natural wonder.

While there are a few cities in Malaysia, such as Kuala Lumpur, that offer very few sites but are high on experience, Langkawi is an area that is bustling with activity and things to do. Tourists can journey through the mountains, tour the variety of museums, saunter through natural parks, aquariums, crocodile lands, enjoy scenic bird viewing tours, and engage in pretty much any activity one could imagine. In essence, Langkawi is the perfect blend of that small, natural island life feel and the excitement of modern activities, attractions, and splendour.

But do not take our word for it; this is one place you simply have to see for yourself.

Pulau Redang, or simply Redang as it is commonly known as, is one of the largest islands in all of Malaysia. This is by far one of the most popular holiday islands in the country and is known for having a wide variety of packaged deals for tourists. While snorkelling, diving, and sun tanning are the main draws there is a lot more to Redang when you research beyond the surface. The group of 9 islands offers something for everyone and has all of the ingredients for you to put together an unforgettable Malaysia vacation.

Vacationers can access Redang, which is in fact a marine park in and of itself, from boat tours operated from Merang or Kuala Terengganu. For the more affluent there are also air charters that set off from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to this magical destination.

A few of the big draws for scuba divers heading to Redang, especially for scuba divers, is the fact that the island has been classified as a sea turtle conservation site and also the infamous dive sites of shipwrecks such as the HMS Repulse and the HMS Prince of Wales.

Thanks to the unrivalled visibility and easy access to coral reefs, it is hard to argue against a dive vacation to Redang Island. Even a short jaunt from popular beaches will allow snorkelers and scuba divers to encounter a vast array of marine life such as reef sharks and impressive moray eels. Even the most inexperienced divers can take quick lessons and get out into the shallow water where some of the most colourful and beautiful creatures lurk below.

Beyond the popular dive sites, Redang Island is also known for its seemingly endless sandy, white beaches. The beaches are dotted with enormous palm trees, mirror like crystal clear water and coral reefs that are unrivalled in a number of Southeast Asia vacation spots. Long Beach is by far one of the most popular beaches in the area and is the home of some of the more impressive resorts on the island. But for those looking for something a little more secluded and private, Teluk Dalam is a wonderful place to start. In all, Redang Island offers absolutely everything that you could want from a tropical island and is the idyllic setting for a romantic getaway or a care free family vacation.

Recently the popularity of Redang Island has been booming thanks to the protected status that keeps the natural beauty and atmosphere of the island pristine as can be. The area easily offers everything that combines to make the perfect, full-filled, island vacation. Warm tropical waters, delicious restaurants, lively night life, and unforgettable beaches are just a few of the things you will encounter when taking a Malaysia vacation to Redang Island. The next time you consider planning a tropical getaway, bump Redang Island up to the top of your list and experience what thousands of travelers consider to be one of the most magical islands on the planet.

Pulau Sipidan is known worldwide as one of the most unique locations in all of Southeast Asia. The waters here offer some of the most infamous and magical diving spots in the world, as the water is an unforgettable indigo blue color. The array of tropical fish and the dark, deep waters helped Sipadan become the Best Beach Dive in the World in 1993. It really doesn’t get that much better for divers.

The waters boast some of the most awe-inspiring marine life and even a ten minute dive into the water can get you up close and personal with thousands of reef fish and coral so bright and colourful you would think you had become part of a painting. Take the time and stick in Sipadan for a while and you can tour areas such as Barracuda Point, the Hanging Gardens and the Turtle Cavern. What is even better is the fact that so many professional diving companies in Sipadan offer full packages that include dive equipment, food, accommodation, and provides an experience you will never forget.

Sipadan is home to some of the rarest diving scenes in the world over. You can dive down and watch hawksbill turtles nest, green turtles mate, and sit back and watch massive schools of barracuda swim by and monstrous trevally swirl overhead.

No scuba diver can feel complete without at least one trip to Sipadan in Malaysia. However, snorkelers should not feel left out either as there are a number of wonderful reef spots that offer some dazzling sites as well. There are more than a few operators that will give snorkelers a round trip package to the island and show them the best spots.

Unfortunately for tourists, the island of Sipadan has been shut down in order to preserve its natural beauty and wildlife. Diving is of course still permitted and day trips run out of the town of Semporna. Your best bet if you plan to stay in the area for a few days is to head to one of the nearby islands instead. You can find high end resorts and affordable hotels on the islands of Kapalai and Mabul which are both less than 30 minutes from Sipadan.

If you plan a Malaysia vacation to Sipadan then you are most likely an avid diver, but the nearby Mabul Island also offers a lot for vacationers. The island is an eclectic blend of local communities, fishers, and spots that have sprung up thanks to tourism. This is one destination where you will have to plan far in advance in order to visit as it is almost impossible to find open spaces in the hotels or for the dive packages.

Sipadan is in fact one of the most popular dive spots in the entire world, so there is no doubt you will not be the only one looking to book that perfect, dive vacation in Malaysia. You may even want to consider booking now in order to get the very best spot on one of the very best vacations in the world.

Positioned in the South China sea, just exactly like a pearl is in an oyster lies the island called Tioman island. It is the largest of a volcanic group island, with 64 islands in tow. If it is white beaches that attract you then Tioman island, with its crystal clear water to add to, surely will be a magnet for you. The natural assets of this tropical paradise attract you like nothing could. People here are very hospitable. A rich varied and vivid flora and fauna is set to garland you, once you step your foot here.

Waterfalls, tropical slopes, sandy beaches, clear blue waters and explicit coral reefs. Sun beaches, palm fringed beaches and varied aquatic life is yet another laurel in the hat. A walk on these amazing beaches is set to give you a happy high. What’s more? This place is very easily connected through air and through the waterways. An endless coastline, tropical bliss and a heaven for sun seekers this is not all, you’ll be left gasping for much more.

Just like any other island it also has beautiful palm trees, friendly locals and enchanting villages. The adjacent twin peaks of Gunung Nenek Semukut give a touch of an artist’s hand to the already overly beautiful Tioman island. In 1970, Timon was rated as one of the most beautiful islands in the world by TIME magazine. Apart from other natural resources it boasts a major chunk of inland forests covered area. It is strictly reserved naturally.

For divers, it has the most beautiful coral views, other aquatic wonders and the best place for nudibranchs in the world. It boasts golden as well as silver beaches, in other words white sand. Tioman forms an option as a holidaying destination not only for honeymooners, children, scuba divers and backpackers but also for everybody who is looking for serenity and blissful charm. There are also some resorts which boast of private beaches. The places worth a mention in the island are Salang, Panuba, Ayer Batang, Marine park, Tekek, Lalang, Paya, Melina, Juara, Genting, Lanting, Nipah, Minang cave, Mukut and Juara. All these places are mostly by the coast side.

Also, a legend regarding its dragon shape that might interest you is as follows: a dragon princess was said to have rested here on the way from China to Singapore in order to meet her love. But she liked the place so much that she gave up on the idea of going ahead and decided to stay on. That is when it acquired the shape of a dragon.

Thus, amidst such fancy tales, natural beauty and cultural heritage, it is more than difficult for one to not be lured towards this charismatic charm. Don’t waste any more time, this article has provided you more than the insight that you actually needed to get inspired to visit Tioman Island. This is a sight you do not want to miss, a sight you will never forget and a site where vacationers become heavenly.

Malaysia has truly been the hub for Asian culture. Multiculturalism like nowhere else in the world has made it a tourist hot spot over the recent years. The diversity exists not only in the culture but also in the physical beauty. From skyscrapers in the most modernized cities to the wooden houses built on stilts, the country will make you gasp.

The country allures you with a lot of attractions. And this article will take you through a journey covering almost everything that you’d miss out on in case you don’t visit this wonderland. The recently developed metropolitan of Kuala Lumpur, has some of the tallest skyscrapers. The Petronas towers are the second highest buildings in the world and can blow your mind off with their architecture. The city also gives you a lot of shopping opportunities with its huge shopping malls. Apart from the towers and malls, the city also keeps its traditions alive with its culturally rich areas like the Bukit Bintang and Chinatown, where you can even shop for almost every taste and budget. That is not it wither, the KL bird park, Aquaria KLCC, National Planetarium, National Science Centre, Library and Cineleisure Damansara, Putrajaya cruise add laurels to the most coveted city by the tourists. All in all it has anything and everything to offer that a tourist spot can boast of.

Moving on to the Tioman islands located in the South China Sea. It is beauty at its best. It is known for its dragon like appearance, which also reminds us that it is not the only attraction of this place. Nature has blessed this place like nothing else. Tropical jungles, vivid flora and fauna, mountains, waterfalls and diverse aquatic life, do you want more? Amazing beaches and golden sand, the place is a sheer bliss. Furthermore, if you don’t happen to be satisfied with golden sand then Malaysia also has white sand for you. Lo!

This is something which only Redang island can boast of. Easily accessible coral reefs distinguish it from many other counterparts. This is the ‘it’ place for scuba divers. Without any exaggeration it is the best spot for you to spend the weekends. Langkawi, the place of islands, beaches and sight seeing. Beaches, namely, Pantai Cengang, Pantai Tengah and Pantai Kok, if you are a true beach lover you can’t afford to miss out on them. Islands, Pulau Payar Marine park, Pulau Rebak and many more, think breathtaking islands, think Malaysia.

To many people, Penang represents Malaysia like no other place. It is a true blend of modernity and tradition. Also, it has been declared by the UNESCO as world cultural heritage site. Famous as the food capital of Malaysia it offers you a wide range of delicious cuisines and delicacies.

On the contrary to places like Penang and Kuala Lumpur there is a place called Malacca which has existed for a much longer time and is quiet and blissful. Malaysian tradition can be seen at its peak in Malacca. Slopping rooftops, micro culture and a lot of heritage to boast these are the ingredients that go in to make this wonderful place.

Taman Negara is a place that boasts bio-diversity like none else. Taman Negara basically means a ‘national park’. So, that explains it for you the speciality of this special, special place. It’s a tropical rain forest and one of the world’s best kept natural wonders, not to be found anywhere on the face of this earth. It also is famous as the oldest jungle in the history of jungles.

Coming up is another national park by the name of Gunung Mulu. Given the spectacular view and nature at its best, no wonder, Gunung Mulu has been declared as a UNESCO world heritage site. Having told you so much about the beaches and a series of natural parks, don’t think Malaysia does not have anything else to offer. There are oodles of things for you to explore you might get tired exploring but there is no way that Malaysia will run out of surprises for its guests.

Now for some mountains, Mt. Kinabalu is another tourist attraction of Malaysia. It is the highest mountain of South East Asia. It offers an awesome trek to the tourists through the lovely oak forest. Also, very rare flowers and trees welcome you on your way. It is a privilege for the tourists to come across such a naturally rich spot. Next on the list is the Cherating beach. Last but off course not the least. It is a place which offers sloping white sand beaches which for years has attracted backpackers from all over the world. One of the famous souvenirs is the self made batik. Cultural shows, namely Wayang Kuilt and Silat form a part of the cultural heritage.

So, what are you waiting for? Get set and go to Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur can best be defined as a world class city. It has easily become of the most vital and thriving cities within all of Asia as the world is taking notice of the booming economy and ever expanding cities. It is unique, stunning, impressive and laid back all at the same time. There are very few destinations that offer such a wide range of activities, attractions and sights in such a unique and attractive manner.

Being the capital of Malaysia, KL is clean, safe, comfortable and one of the most modern cosmopolitan cities in the world. That is often something that people do not expect when they picture a vacation to Kuala Lumpur, even though it should be. While the city has inherited a modern look and feel it has not lost touch with its historical roots. The blend of towering skyscrapers and colonial buildings ensures that the city is the perfect mix of modern flavor and cultural awareness.

In terms of culture there is also quite a wide range of diversity. In fact the word diverse almost sums up what Kuala Lumpur is all about in many ways. There are a number of multilingual and multicultural citizens and Malaysians are quickly becoming known as some of the friendliest people in the world. While Bahasa Malaysia is the official language, the majority of people that you come across will speak English, or at least well enough to converse and help you get around. That is a lot more than some other cities in Asia can boast.

While many vacations depend upon your budget and your interests, a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia offers plenty for everyone. Whether you are looking for a five star hotel or a budget hostel you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for. If you want an adventurous getaway packed with activities it is easier than ever. If you want to spend your days shopping and your nights enjoying the nightlife then you will surely love it here. There is everything to do for every kind of traveler no matter what budget you are trying to work with. Kuala Lumpur caters to families, friends, couples and singles and offers vacations that no one will soon forget.

All in all, Kuala Lumpur is the place to be if you are looking for a harmonious mix of Eastern and Western culture. While in some cities this culture difference can collide while modern and classical traditions clash, the blend utilized within Kuala Lumpur is priceless and will provide an experience you will not forget. Enjoy the beautiful architecture, some of the best shopping spots in all of Asia, succulent cuisine, entertaining nightlife and friendly people all with one simple vacation.
